Société Générale renewed its partnership agreement with FFGolf (the French Golf Federation) until 2008. On June 24, 2005, the two signed a new four-year partnership agreement. Already an Official Partner of FFGolf since 2001, Société Générale confirmed its commitment to the development of the sport. The Federation’s membership increased once more in 2006 to a total of 378,275 members.

Since 2001, Société Générale has been involved alongside all those implicated in golf in France in order to support the development of this sport.

The Group has been an Official Partner of the FFGolf French Golf Federation since 2001. This commitment, permanently renewed ever since, lets Société Générale carry out numerous operations amongst young people and to support the Federation’s promotion initiatives.

Since 2007, Société Générale has also become involved in helping disabled golfers by supporting the Handigolf sports association in order to promote the development, in some clubs, of golf schools for disabled people.

Société Générale is also a loyal partner of major professional events held in France. Since 2004, the Group has been the Official Partner of the French Open, France’s main golf tournament for male golfers. In 2008, it also became involved in the Evian Masters for the first time, as Presenting Sponsor, in order to support one of the world’s main tournaments for female golfers.

Lastly, with Team Société Générale, the Group is also helping talented and promising professional golfers. Société Générale supports Gwladys Nocera, Sophie Giquel, Cassandra Kirkland and Grégory Bourdy around the greens of the European circuit. Through the intermediary of SG Private Banking, the Group is also associating its image with Christian Ceväer, Thomas Levet and Angel Cabrera (winner of the 2007 US Open); three well-known professional golfers.

Through these various partnerships, Société Générale is clearly positioned as France’s golfing bank.
