BEING A SUPPLIER OF SOCIÉTÉ GÉNÉRALE GROUP

The Sourcing Division’s objective is to contribute to the Group’s operational efficiency and the control of its operational risks. Its supplier relationship management is based on the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility approach (CSR).

MEETING OUR CSR REQUIREMENTS

Société Générale Group signed up to the Global compact in 2003.

Since 2006, the Sourcing Division has implemented the Ethical Sourcing Program (ESP) which aims at including CSR in its sourcing policies and practices, through:
- Compulsory CSR provisions in all contracts
- Implementation of green initiatives (recycled paper, recycling of end-of-life computer hardware, “green electricity” from renewable energy sources, use of  electric vehicles as company vehicles)

- Integration of “sustainable development” questionnaires in all requests for proposals
- Acknowledgement of CSR risks by integration of the criterion as of the expression of requirements

 CSR for Société Générale buyers also means:
-
signing professional compliance rules for every buyer: commitment to confidentiality, ethics, fairness and transparency with suppliers;

- specific legal training about the importance of business continuity, balance in the relationship between suppliers and Société Générale, and training to our “Ethical Sourcing Program”;
- the obligation for the buyers to document the decisions made and create a file for each sourcing process to be kept available to the audit authorities;

- verification by the buyers, upon each sourcing process, that the suppliers have a balanced financial situation, are not under any risk of dependence with Société Générale and do not contract on the basis of abnormal conditions in relation to the situation of the market.
